Welcome to 6WW Class!
Stop by and see what we have been up to in 6WW.
We have weekly photos of what we have been doing, as well as updates about the table point weekly winners!
You can also find the weekly Home Learning for Spellings and Maths on here too.
Our Year So Far....
It has been a busy year so far! We have studied World War II and we are now learning all about Ancient Greece.
We have been really lucky to have had the opportunity to go and visit a World War II bunker, we went to Poole Library to watch a play, we watched a 'Beauty and the Beast' performance, Mrs Buchanan organised a 'Creature Teacher' session where we saw a bearded dragon, a snake, a raccoon and an owl as well as eating a selection of Greek food! Yummy!
We still have so much to look forward to - especially our trip to France!
Thank you to the parents who attended the KS2 SATs meeting we held on Monday 16th January.
The video outlining SATs has been uploaded above, and below are a list of websites, texts and areas to focus on at home.
This has papers from previous years. It will give you a good idea about the sorts of questions in the papers. The old level 6 papers are great practice as this is the standard which every child is expected to now be working at.
CGP Revision Books
These are a great revision tool! There are example questions and fun activities for the children to complete. There are a range of books for all core subject areas.
A free resource for the children to use. They all have their own log in and have all accessed this in school. This online platform targets the areas children need to focus on and reacts to each quiz so every child is being challenged. This can be accessed both on a desktop and on an iPad.
- Reading a wide range of text types
- Times Table Games
- Completing all homework set
We are having another practice SATs week next week (week beginning Monday 30th January). Once these have all been completed, marked and assessed I will send home a few key areas for each child to focus on at home.
If you have any further questions please come and see me!
