Talbot is a Healthy
School!
Talbot recently received recognition as a
Healthy School and we are very proud of the award.
Last year we focused on physical activity and participated in Super Schools, Jump Rope and
conducted our own physical fitness programme amongst other things.
This year we have targeted healthy eating and through P.S.H.E lessons hope to promote
greater awareness of healthy choices. We are continuing to stress the value of drinking
water and have recently installed a number of mains fed water coolers and provided pupils
with free water bottles.
We intend to implement a new Sex and Relationships scheme of work this year and are
working closely with Jan Lever, Pooles P.S.H.E. adviser, to develop this and keep
parents informed.

Every year the whole school gets involved in
the Operation Christmas Child charity. Here are some of the presents and gifts we have
collected this year:

In this photograph the swimming pool is
clearly visible with its white roof. The band room and changing rooms can be seen adjacent
to the car park. Today, only 2 of the mobile classroom remain, and the eastern side of the
school is now dominated by the 1999 extension. |
