19.10.21 - Year 6 Football Utility Cup

CHAMPIONEES. CHAMPIONEES. CHAMPIONEES OLE OLE OLE

What an afternoon!

After the previous days victory against Manorside, Year 6 were once again in action. With a smaller team (not in height ... but in players numbers), Talbot embarked upon a new challenge of the Utility Cup!

Overall, the team played 8 hard fought games against other schools from the local area. The standard was high and there was some quality football played. The team's biggest win was a 6-0 score line but the action really got going in the later knockout rounds.

In the semi-final with the game evenly poised at 0-0, Talbot snatched the 1-0 win with a kick in the dying seconds of the game.

If that wasn't tense enough, in the final, the team were 2-1 down. Mr Bartram was almost in tears thinking about what could have been but his warriors didn't let him down and after some superb football, they pulled it back to 2-2. Before long, the crowd were rejoicing when the team got that final goal and won the game 3-2.

Overall, 8 games played - 7 won, 1 draw.

Players of the tournament - Dylan and Keilan.

Next stop - AFC Bournemouth? Wembley? The sky is the limit!
