DT

 In DT this half term, have been thinking about healthy eating and learning to prepare and cook healthy meals. We made pottage in class.

Suggested activities:

  • Write a recipe (ingredients and instructions) for the pottage your child made in class;
  • Design a meal for a banquet in honour of Henry VIII or Elizabeth I - include Tudor dishes, but try to make sure it has a healthy balance too (see links and picture below to help);
  • Ask your child to help an adult prepare a meal, perhaps your very own version of pottage. Show your child how to use utensils like peelers, graters and knives safely to peel and prepare vegetables to be cooked.
