Kate Curtis - Headteacher

I am the very proud headteacher of Talbot Primary School. I love my job and especially enjoy spending time with our wonderful pupils.

When I am not at school I like to spend time with my lovely boys. Ross, who is here at Talbot and James, who did attend Talbot, before moving on to his secondary school.

We especially enjoy eating biscuits in bed on a Sunday morning!

I love scuba diving and if I can find water warm enough, I'm in it! I also enjoy reading, going to the cinema, painting and drawing, Karaoke, dancing and spending time on my parents farm.

Gemma Jefferson-Peters - Chair of Governors

Chair of Governors and Parent Governor, I have worked for the Lloyds Banking Group for 11 years and is passionate about education and the school. My daughter is in Year 6 and loves Talbot.

Sally Reynolds-Parent Governor and Vice Chair

Sally works as a Senior Lecturer at Bournemouth University and is passionate about getting children and students excited about doing Science, learning about Human Evolution and valuing the amazing diversity of life all around us.

Sally's son Alex, is in Year 3 and has really thrived and blossomed in his time here.

Ross Browne - Deputy Headteacher

Teaching and learning and the development of our curriculum are the key areas that I oversee at Talbot. When I'm not here I can be found playing football, reading and eating great food, although not all at the same time. I can often be found first thing in the morning dishing out bagels to our children.

Stefan Taylor - Teaching Staff Governor

Mr Taylor – Year 5 Teacher/ Geography Subject Leader

I am currently in my fifth year of teaching although my first two years were spent in Essex. I completed my PGCE at Canterbury Christ Church University after doing a Sport Studies Degree at the University of Southampton. I am an avid sportsman whether it is playing or watching. My favourite sport is American Football. I played it for three years at University and I support the Miami Dolphins.

Maria Kamali - Parent Governor

I am a busy mum of two, with my daughter currently in Year 3 here at Talbot. I have previously worked 15 years in the leisure industry. I love to be outside whatever the weather, but am just as happy curled up at home watching a movie or reading a book.

James Farge - Co-opted Governor

My name is James Farge and I am excited about joining the governors board for the forthcoming academic year. I have known a number of the staff at Talbot for several years and fully appreciate what a special school

it is! I work within property finance specifically funding build schemes with local and regional developers across the UK. I live in Ferndown with my fiancee and support the mighty AFC Bournemouth.

Craig Summers Co-opted Governor

My name is Craig Summers and I work with the children and staff at Talbot   Primary School via my company The Fresh Air Club. I live in Ringwood with   my wife and two boys, and very much enjoy watching AFC Bournemouth   with them whenever I can. I am honoured to be able to support the school as   a Governor and look forward to seeing the children thrive in the amazing and   positive learning environment that the school has developed.

Christine Dunbar - Clerk to Governors

As well as clerking for the Governors, I am a Teaching Assistant in year 1. I also teach ELLS  (Early Learning Literacy Support) which is an intervention programme designed to help the reading ability of children who are struggling. I have been at Talbot for a staggering 20 years and still loving it!

Term of Office

The Governing Body is committed to improving the lives of children and families at Talbot Primary School. It does this by challenging and supporting the school and by visiting the school. Staff, parents and community members give liberally of their time, experience and expertise to be governors.
