More Talbot Sporting Success
Following on from our tremendous success at the football, we are delighted to share some super sports news once again.
Last week, Mr Bartram took 9 Year 5/6 children to an Athletics meet at Broadstone Middle School. The competition comprised of twelve local schools with a maximum entry of twelve children. Originally, 12 children were selected but unfortunately there were a few last-minute withdrawals. The events consisted of a 75m sprint, relays, 600m run, standing long jump and a vortex throw.
At the tournament, the children conducted themselves superbly and represented Talbot to the best of their ability. The children: Dylan, Isaac, Lucy, Daria, Poppy, Alfie, Verity, Taylor, and Finlay were excellent. They competed fantastically well, and we are incredibly proud of their efforts.
Taylor from Year 5 had the longest throw out of all children, which is AMAZING! Finlay from Year 6 had the quickest sprint, which is AWESOME! Finlay and Taylor then combined to be the joint top 3rd placed boys out of all schools – boys, that is simply outstanding.
Overall, our nine athletic legends finished a quite phenomenal fourth place out of twelve schools. This is even more amazing considering we only had nine out of the allocated twelve students.
To those nine, we are so proud of your hard work. Thank you again to Mr Bartram for dedicating so much hard work and ensuring our pupils can shine on different sporting stages.
Next up – Year 3 and 4 get their chance next Thursday! Good luck!
