We are very much looking forward to meeting you and your child and are happy to confirm that the transition events will go ahead as planned next week with an additional session on Wednesday 16th September.
Transition dates
Children should attend these transition dates wearing winter school uniform with their one supervising adult wearing a mask. Please be aware that staff will be wearing a visor during these transition dates to ensure the safety of all. We ask that you do not bring in younger siblings in order for us to maintain social distancing. When you arrive for the transition dates please follow the one-way systems that will be in place; staff will be on hand to direct you where necessary.
When you are dropping off your child to the Reception Base, please do not enter the classroom. We understand that there may be tears but following government guidance we are unable to have adults within our school building following your previous visit in the hall. It is part of our role to support your child through this transition period. In order to maintain social distancing, we ask that you vacate the playground as quickly as possible when dropping off and picking up your child.
Home Visits
We are pleased that we can go ahead with these home visits and feel that it is an essential part of the transition process. Please be aware that staff will be wearing masks/visors during the visits. We would welcome this visit to be outside where possible. Unfortunately, due to the current circumstances, we are unable to accept any food or drinks during our visit.
Starting School
To ensure transmission between home and school is reduced, please only allow your child to bring in a water bottle, coat and a lunch box (when full-time and not receiving Free School Meals). All of these items need to be named. A free fruit or vegetable snack will be provided at snack time each day.
