School Guidance Letter

Dear Parents and Carers,

Re:  School Information Following the Prime Minister’s Roadmap to Exiting Lockdown

I am writing to you following the announcement from our Prime Minister on Sunday 10th May regarding the 3 steps that will be put in place over time to ease the lockdown restrictions.

Currently, schools remain closed to all children other than those of critical workers or those who meet the vulnerable criteria.  This has not changed.  We recognise the challenges many of you will face now some work restrictions have been lifted, however, we must continue to follow the instructions from government, and are unable to offer places to children outside of the categories above.

We will be planning carefully over the next few weeks so that we can re-open our school safely for those year groups decided by government as soon as we are instructed.  I want to assure you that the phased return will follow social distancing guidelines.  We will ensure the number of children in school, layout of classrooms, arrangements for dropping off and collecting, and the use of shared spaces and facilities are planned meticulously so that we keep our children and staff safe.

For those children who are not allowed to attend, we will continue to ensure that appropriate work is provided and will plan for how we can best support children to feel confident about returning in September should they not be allowed back before then.

We recognise that information is changing daily, and will contact you again if the school guidance is updated further.

Thank you for your support,

Mrs Kate Curtis
