World Book Day

World Book Day

Thursday 7th March 2019

Dear Parents and Carers,

World Book Day 2019 will soon be upon us and we are keen to celebrate this event again!

This year we are asking everyone to come to school dressed as their favourite character from their favourite book. But, most importantly, we want your child to bring their favourite book to school.

During the day, the staff and children will have the opportunity to share their favourite books with each other and hopefully your child will be inspired to read a book they haven’t considered before.

As in previous years, each child will be given a £1 book token. These tokens can be used in any participating book store towards the cost of a full price book or they can be exchanged for one of the special World Book Day Edition books with themes ranging from mermaids to puppies to adventures in space to the Greek gods to Lego jokes… and a whole lot more besides!

Please don’t go to lots of expense on the costumes! Dressing up with the things you can find at home and making or adapting them is much more fun and much cheaper – we’d rather you save those pennies to spend on books instead!

We look forward to celebrating World Book Day together and hearing about your child’s favourite books and characters.

Best wishes,

Mr S. Garner
