Over the last two weeks we have had great fun getting to know our wonderful new friends and learning the routines and boundaries of our new classrooms. We have been learning about Superheroes and their super powers and how we too would like the super power to read and write. We have read the story of 'Supertato' and designed and made our ideas to save the Veggies who have been trapped in our classroom. Finally we made jelly to trap Evil Pea and release the veggies (We also had lots of fun eating it).

We have been learning about words that rhyme and listening to initial sounds within words that we speak. We have also been segmenting our words to hear the phonemes within the words E.G- d-o-g.

We may come home using words such as phoneme and grapheme soon but these are only long words they simply mean grapheme- the written letter of the alphabet/ phoneme- the sound a letter makes. We have been bringing home picture books to read with you so below is a video with ideas of how to question us when we are talking about the pictures.

We have been learning to sort objects into groups. We have explored many different ways that we sort the same objects into different groups depending on size, colour, legs, shape etc..
