We are a busy but friendly school, with lots going on. This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing up to date information for parents, pupils and the wider community.

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find the information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school direct with any queries you may have.

If you would like a paper copy of any of the information on this website ask at the school office who can provide this.

Dear Parents, Families and Carers,

Thank you for taking an interest in our school. We would like to use this website as an opportunity to tell you a little more about ourselves.

Talbot Primary School is a safe and happy school committed to ensuring that all our children have the best possible education during this vital time of their lives. We strive for high academic standards across the whole curriculum to give every child the opportunity to achieve their full potential. To fulfil this ambition we nurture the “whole” child and encourage their emotional and social development as well as their learning attainment.

We are located on the border between Poole and Bournemouth in Dorset. We are a short distance for the coast and local places of interest although located in a urban setting. As of September 2011 we have a Pupil Admission Number of 90. We have no religious affiliation; however we learn about all religions and faiths and engage in predominantly Christian festivals.

Talbot Primary School has gone through some very exciting recent changes and is a rapidly improving School. We are an academy within the Hamwic Education Trust and work alongside 3 other schools in the Greenway Partnership, Bishop Aldhelms Primary, Livingstone Road Junior and Livingstone Road Infant Schools. As Headteacher I am committed to continuing to improve the education of all children in our school. I believe that all children have a right to an education which will help them develop, intellectually, morally, socially, culturally, physically and spiritually and which promotes a love of learning.

We have a new cohort of staff and fantastic long standing teachers. Together we make a strong and enthusiastic team. We also have a newly refurbished Early Years unit which we are extremely proud of.

The following information is just a taster of the wonderful provision enjoyed by our pupils. We have also included some key points from our recent Ofsted inspection and some comments made by children who have been reflecting on their time in our school.

Please go to if you would like to review recent reports.

We hope you enjoy finding out about our school and look forward to hearing from you soon.
