Parents Parking Promise - please help us to keep our community safe. 

The road outside our school can get very busy with motor traffic and this can make it challenging for our pupils that walk, wheel, scoot and cycle to school. We are working with Sustrans and BCP Council to help create a safer space outside school. 

We understand that sometimes it isn’t possible for you to walk, cycle or wheel to school and that some parents will need to drive.

By attending our school, we ask that drivers adhere to our schools’ parent parking promise so we can make the road outside school safer and we have cleaner air to breathe.  The idea is simple and by agreeing to the promise, it shows the children and other drivers that you are committed to being a responsible driver.

By attending our school and reading the parent parking promise, you are agreeing to –

• Walk, cycle or wheel to school wherever possible. Only drive to school if you really need to.
• Park at least 5 minutes from school if you need to drive, and stride/scoot/cycle the rest of the journey.
• Follow the Highway Code and park sensibly away from zigzags, double yellow lines and junctions.
• Respect our local community and park considerately keeping residents’ driveways and all pavements and dropped kerbs clear.
• Drive slowly and attentively, particularly when close to the school.
• If driving, turn off your engine, to help keep the air around the school safe and healthy for all to breathe.
